RUSSELL S. MARTINEZ, 53, a resident of Chimayo, passed away of a lengthy illness on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Russell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Encarnacion DeAguero and Eloisa DeAguero, paternal grandparents, Eduarda Bustos and Fernando Martinez; mother-in-law, Carrie Lopez and many other relatives and friends. Russell loved to fix cars. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He loved to joke with everyone he knew. He was a very loving, kind and giving person, he treated people how he wanted to be treated. Russell will be greatly missed by all he knew and loved. Russell is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jackie Martinez of El Llano; daughter, Ashley Vigil and companion Chris Munoz of Albuquerque; special granddaughter Amorette Vigil of Albuquerque, grandchildren, Kenneth Vigil, Alicia Munoz, all of Albuquerque; parents, Alfonso and Vicky Martinez of Chimayo; brother, Joe Martinez and wife Corine of El Guache, sister, Debbie Rodella and husband Tommy of La Mesilla; sisters-in-law, Ruth Lopez of El Llano, Tracy Lujan and husband James of El Llano, Peggy Lopez and companion Shane Casias of Española; brother-in-law, David Lopez and companion Diane of El Llano, Valerie Trujillo of El Llano; father-in-law, Horacio A. Lopez of El Llano; special Niece, Amber Skye Lujan of El Llano; special God-Son, Leroy Martinez and many other relatives and friends.   Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers Chris Muñoz, Irban Muñoz, Kenneth Vigil, Shane Casias, David Lopez, James Lujan, Leroy Martinez, and Thomas Rodella Jr., honorary pallbearers Amorette, Kenneth, and Alicia and all his nephews and nieces.  The family of Russell S.
