Age 63, Died Unexpectedly in the Arms of his Beloved Wife Yvonne, and Surrounded by his Loving Family on Tuesday August 31, 2021, at their home in El Rito, NM.  Rudy was born on December 6, 1957, in Espanola, NM To Paul & Soraida Herrera in El Rito, NM.  He was a Devoted Family Man a Loving Husband, Father, and Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Godfather, & Friend.  Nothing brought Rudy Greater Joy than the Time He Spent with his Close-Knit Family. He lived his Life to the Fullest Enjoying his Love for the Great Outdoors Such as, Fishing, Camping, Hunting, Cooking Outdoors on his Discos, four-wheeling or just Taking a drive Through the Sierra.  Rudy was an Avid Hunter & Fisherman he Treasured any Amount of time he spent out in the Sierra Especially in his Beloved Hometown El Rito.  He is Preceded in Death by his Son Rudy Herrera Jr., Father Paul Herrera, Brothers David Herrera, Herman Herrera, father-in-law Savino Lucero, brother-in-law, Kenny Lucero, brother-in-law Compadre Randy Valdez.  He is Survived By his Beloved Wife of 42 years Yvonne Herrera of the Family Home, Very Dear Daughters Rosalie Trujillo (Augustine) of La Mesilla, Renae Herrera (Matt) of Espanola, Brianne Herrera (John) of Espanola. His One and Only Grandson Thomas Quintana (Jasmine) and his Precious Granddaughters, Angel Quintana (Ashley), Serenity & Kayliana Trujillo & Aaliyah Villareal, His Mother Soraida Herrera( Seferino) Mother-in- law Charlotte Martinez of Espanola, Brothers Johnny Herrera (Ida) of El Rito, Emilio(Donna)Denver, Co., Sisters, Darlene Gonzales(Joe) of Pueblo, Co. Polly Valdez, of Las Vegas Julie Herrera of Albuquerque & Marykay Cannon (Ken) of Houston Tx., Brother in laws, Benny Lucero (Melinda)of Gypsum Co., Sammy Lucero (Ruth) of El Rito, Sister in laws Annie Herrera (Edward) of Blackmesa, Az., Colleen Lucero-Lopez (Tj), Marlena Diaz (Fabian).  Goddaughters Jerrica Martinez (Rick) of Espanola, & Erica Archuleta, of Scottsdale, Az. & Many Aunts, Uncles, Nephew, Nieces, Cousins, & Friends.  Rudy will be Greatly Missed. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.   The family of Rudy S.
