Rudy - Age 41 - Chimayo - Arzola

RUDY ARZOLA, 41, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Santa Fe following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Antonio, Alonzo, Seferino, Martin and Leo Lopez, Lupe Romero; sister, Brenda Lopez; maternal grandparents, Edwardo and Martina Martinez and God-mother, Patsy Martinez. Rudy enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. He especially enjoyed quality time like fishing and hunting with his son, Ryan. Both Brittany and Ryan meant the world to him; he would do just about anything for them. Rudy looked forward to going to his mother’s house to have breakfast or lunch with her and having lunch at his mother-in-laws house each Sunday. Though he kept to himself, Rudy was very humorous, always making funny comments with a smirk on his face. He also enjoyed spending time with his “wood buddies” who will always hold special memories of him. Mr. Arzola is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Polly Arzola; beloved children, Brittany and Ryan Arzola; beloved mother, Ernestine Martinez; brother, Norman Lopez; sister, Theresa Lopez; father and mother-in-law, Horace and Pablita Esquibel; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Esquibel and Pete, Peggy Esquibel and Kevin; considered like sisters-in-law, April Miera and Kelly, Joyce Fresquez and Leroy, Amanda Pacheco and husband Armando; God-children, Nicholas Fresquez and Jaylend Maestas; very close niece, Vickie Martinez and husband Kevin; nephew, Anthony Lucero and Fern; special aunt, Linda Romero; God-father, Felix Martinez and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Norman Lopez, Noel Martinez, Harold Sanchez, Anthony Lucero, Sammy Serna, Martin Lopez, Kevin Martinez Sr. and Matthew Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Theresa Lopez, Leroy Fresquez Sr., Leroy Fresquez Jr., Nicholas Fresquez, Jaylend Maestas, Josie and Joseph Rendon, Daren Martinez and Latisha Martinez. The family of Rudy Arzola has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
