RUDOLFO L. MARTINEZ, 85, a resident of Hernandez, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino and Lucia Martinez; daughter, Andrenette Martinez; brother, Alberto Martinez; sisters, Juanita Martinez and Esther Gurule; brothers-in-law, Mauricio Martinez; sisters-in-law, Mariana Jaramillo and Ninfa Martinez. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Martinez; son, Rodger Martinez (Frances) of Hernandez; grandchildren, Rodger Martinez, Jr. (Jessica) of Chimayo, Jesse Martinez of Santa Fe; great-grandchildren, Jeray, Nathaniel, Nolyn and Heavenly Martinez all of Chimayo; sisters, AnaRuth Sanchez, Lucy Mae Romero and Victoria Bauer all of Santa Fe; very close nephew, Carl Bauer of Chamita; special nephews, Lawrence DeLeon and Eli Martinez; brothers-in-law, Nestor Martinez (Delia) and Richard Martinez (Lillian); sisters-in-law, Lugarda Montoya and Eliza Martinez and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española with a devotional service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursdsay, August 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at the Vallecitos Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jeray, Nathaniel, Ernest, and Eli Martinez, Lawrence Deleon, and Carl Bauer. Honorary pallbearers are Rodger Jr., Jesse, Nolyn, and Heavenly Martinez, and Patrick and Gabriel Miera. The family of Rudolfo L. Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
