Ruby Valdez - Courtesy Announcement

Ruby L. Valdez, a lifelong resident of Chama departed this life on April 17, 2018 in Englewood CO surrounded by her family. She was born on January 13, 1943 in Los Ojos. She was preceded in death by her husband Gusman Valdez; daughter, Josephine “Pina” Valdez; mother, Isabel Madrid; father, Jose Salazar; step-father, Carlos Madrid; God-son, Carlos Archuleta; In-laws, Gabriel and Josefita Valdez; brother, Eliseo Salazar; brother-in-law, Gabe Valdez; and sister-in-laws, Benita and Odelia Garcia.  She is survived by her children, Anna Martinez (Felix), Vicky Valdez (Martin), Darlene Valdez, Stephanie Maestas (Luke), Eugene Sandoval (Candace), and Ashley Sandoval (Mike); grandchildren, Felecia Martinez, Alicia Martinez (Chris), Bryan, Isaiah, and JC Maestas; great-grandchildren, Adryana Ulibarri, Dylan Sandoval, Kayla Landers, Elijah Vigil, David Landers, and Sierra Sandoval.  A rosary will be recited Saturday May 12th at 10:00 am at Santo Nino de Atocha Church in Cebolla NM, with Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately following the rosary. Burial to take place at the Cebolla Catholic Cemetery in Cebolla NM. Pallbearers will be all her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her great grandchildren.
