Ruben Pacheco

RUBEN “POPS” PACHECO, 87, a beloved father, grandfather and friend peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Pops was preceded in death by his wife Selma; son, Harold; two grandsons, Anthony and Jacob Pacheco; sister, Floraida Vigil. Ruben Pacheco was born in Bingham, Utah and raised in Chamisal New Mexico. He was a devoted husband to Selma Pacheco for 56 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired Plumbing Contractor. He moved to Carlsbad, CA in 1957, where he raised a family of 6. He enjoyed coming back to New Mexico for Lorenzo Antonio concerts and taking home his “sacks” of green chili. He is survived by his sons Jim (Kim), John (Julie), Mike (Joyce) Pacheco, daughters, Judy (Robert) Ledwsma, Irene (Danny) Alegre; 19 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery.
