Roy Martinez

Roy P. Martinez, from Chimayo, Age 59, passed away January 3rd from a short illness in Santa Fe, NM. He was a fun, happy, and free spirited man. He adored his family and the outdoors. He loved to sing, dance, and play guitar. He also had a very special relationship with his Great Niece Mariyanah. He spent a lot time helping his family in any way he could, as his love for his family had no limits.  He had a great personality and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in Death by his father Melaquias Martinez, his sister Debbie Trujillo, & his Brother Ray Martinez. His maternal Grandparents, Cordilia and Israel Sandoval, his paternal Grandparents, Patricio and Juanita Martinez. He is survived by his daughter Jermaine Martinez(Matt) & Mother of his daughter Brenda Jaramillo, His mother Benina Martinez, brother Larry Martinez(Yvette), Marylou Martinez(Corpi), Sharon Martinez(Dennis), Jeannette Martinez(Tony). Godchildren, Sheryl A Baca & Shawn Martinez. Nephews and Nieces:  Joshua & wife Jamie, Michelle, Melannie, Stephanie, Sheryl & husband Abraham, Dillon, Jonathan, Ryan, Leo, and many other aunts, uncles, great nephews & nieces and other loved relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory with a rosary to follow at 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Pallbearers: Joshua Martinez, Dillon Martinez, Dennis Salazar, Tony Martinez, Miguel Lopez, & Darrell Roybal. The family of Roy P. Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one the DeVargas Funeral Home of the Espanola Valley.
