Ross Garcia Jr.

Ross Garcia Jr., 43, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Susie Sanchez and Ross Garcia, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Silviano and Jesusita Sanchez, paternal grandparents, Joe Garcia, Margaret Archuleta; God-father, Miguel Sanchez; father and mother in-law, Anthony Povijua and Kathleen Sanchez. Ross Garcia, Jr. enjoyed cruising the back roads and listening to music. He was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was a giant teddy bear. Ross is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Povijua; siblings, Eli Garcia and companion Stephanie, Stacey Garcia-Padilla and husband Andres, Julian Garcia and companion Maria, Issac Garcia and Monica Garcia; step-dad, Henry Herrera; aunts and uncles, Loren Sanchez (Maria), Eva Sanchez, Toribio Sanchez, Paul Sanchez, Leo Sanchez (Cres), Norma Naranjo (Hutch), Mae Montoya (Alfred), Steven Garcia (Maria), Richard Montoya, Tomasita Duran (Les), Dorothy Abeyta (Kevin); nieces and nephews, Nicodemus, J.J., Steven, Adrian, Bobby, Keyanna, Tyanna, Desire, Jeremiah, and Julian Jr. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery in Chamita. Laying him to rest will be; Andres Padilla, Arnold Sanchez, Jake Cata, Jeremiah Sanchez, Jose Maestas, Kevin Abeyta, Lorenzo Sanchez, Patrick Baldonado, Pedro Valdez, Ramon Sanchez and Ronald Atencio. The family of Ross Garcia Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
