Rosita Martinez

Rosita (Rose) Martinez – 71 Years old from Hernandez passed away on September 20, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was proceeded in death by her son Alvin Martinez, husband Fidel Martinez, mother Antonia (Antonina) Garcia, father Tony Garcia, brother Fernando (Ferna) Garcia, nephews Patrick Martinez Jr., Steve Garcia and John (Manz) Lucero, sister-in-law Linda Garcia, daughter-in-law Pearl Lopez, In-laws Fidel and Adelina Martinez, Carlos Martinez Sr., Beroniz and Baltazar Olivas.

Rosita retired from the State of New Mexico. She adored her family, close friends and loved to spend time with all of them especially her daughter and son- in-law whom she adored along with her grandchildren and her brothers and sisters.  Rose had a strong faith and enjoyed praying for everyone in need of prayers.  She enjoyed camping, sitting under “her” tree praying her rosary and doing word puzzles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rosita is survived by her daughter Charlene Martinez Padilla, her beloved son-in-law whom she considered her Hito/son David Padilla, grandchildren, Carlos Martinez & Jenee Madrid, Erica Martinez, Kayla Vialpando & Matthew Gallegos, her beloved Aieshah Barela, Alesio, Aspen, and Analisa, great grandchildren, Jeriah, Jaydn, Noah, and Kyler, father of her children, Charlie Martinez (Molly) of Abiquiu, brothers and sisters, Leroy Garcia Hernandez, Isaac Garcia (Lucy) Espanola, Jane Sandoval (George) Hernandez, Irene Romero (Lee) Truchas, Anthony Garcia (Ted Padilla) Albuquerque, Anita Guerra (Pudgy) Espanola, Vicky Martinez (Jesus) Espanola, and Manuel Garcia (Elvia) Espanola.  Goddaughter, Julie Romero.  Special aunt Beatrice Perea (Fermin) El Guache, special cousins Rosabelle Delgado and Dolly Juarez, special sisters-in-law Mary Sandoval (George) Mora, and Brenda Garcia, special niece Vanessa Atencio (Jason) Mora, special friends, Mary Agnes (Johnny) Jaramillo, Abiquiu, Teresita Sanchez, Hernandez, Theresa Martinez Espanola and Ann Vargas Gutierrez, Chimayo, Padrino's Edumenio and Ilene Martinez, Tony and Olivia Gallegos.  A special "Thank You" to her caretaker Lina Trujillo.

A public visitation will begin on Thursday September 29, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, a mass of Christian burial will be on Friday September 30, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Hernandez, will the following serving as Pallbearers, Manuel Garcia, Isaac Garcia, George Sandoval, Cory Lewis, Isaac Garcia Jr., Ross Garcia, Pudgy Guerra nd Jason Atencio.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Aieshah Barela, Erika Martinez, Carlos Martinez (Jenee Madrid), Kayla Vialpando (Matthew Gallegos), and her great grandchildren.
