Rosina - Age 74 - Canjilon - Valdez

ROSINA J. VALDEZ, “the most beautiful Rose”, 74, a resident of Canjilon, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan P. Valdez “the man in black”; son, Vialquin; parents, Moises and Benancia Atencio; brothers and sisters, Jose Wally Atencio, Esther Morales, Umberto ‘Beto” Atencio and Delilia Atencio and Minerva Archuleta. Rosina was born August 21, 1938 in Dixon. She moved to Canjilon after meeting her husband and they had 8 children who were the love of her life. She was a faithful woman and loved to pray and read her bible. She shared her love of God with others. One of Rosinas many passions was gardening and preserving her harvest by canning. She was also an excellent seamstress and would make clothes for herself and her family. She worked with Rio Arriba County for many years, where she met a lot of wonderful people where she touched the lives of many. Mrs. Valdez is survived by her children, Amarante Valdez and companion Becky of Canjilon, Juanita Montoya and husband Johnny of Canjilon, Deborah Ulibarri and husband Ted of Los Alamos, Luisa Valdez of Española, Reyes J. Valdez and companion Inez of Abiquiu, Tanya Valdez of Canjilon and Amada Valdez of Española; grandson raised like a son, Gilbert Valdez; daughter-in-law, Rosella Valdez sister, Amy Rodriguez and husband Raymond; brothers, Larry Atencio and Juan Atencio and wife Triny; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. The family of Rosina J.
