Rosendo Baca

Rosendo Baca 94, a resident of Chimayo, New Mexico passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 

Rosendo Baca was preceded in death by wife Josie Baca of 67 years, his son Rudy Baca, parents; Cecilio and Delfinia Baca, brothers, Elijio, Ursulo, Juan, Miguel, Celso, and Eliseo Baca; sister Mary Baca.

He is survived by his Sons Thomas Baca (Catherine Sanchez), Andy Baca and granddaughter Alyssia Baca.

Rosendo will always be remembered for the warm love and laughter he had for all his family. He enjoyed visiting, singing, and joking with his family always with his guitar. He made music the center of his family’s upbringing. He loved composing music and in 2013 he was nominated for the gospel song of the year, Corrido Del Santuario. He also enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb. He will be dearly missed by all who love him. 

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Serving as the family’s pallbearers are John Griego, Freddie Trujillo, Brian Valencia, Paul Fernande, Evansto Lopez, and Alfred Baca.
