Rosemary N. (Jacono) Pistone

d. February 17, 2023

Rosemary Pistone, 82, succumbed to Parkinson’s disease and endometriosis on February 17th

Rosemary was the second daughter of Tony and Christine Jacono of Linwood, PA.  She grew up in Linwood with her older sister Angeline and younger sister Chris in a close family who lived in Italian tradition, surrounded by family and friends.  Her childhood experiences and lessons taught by her Mom and Grandmother (MomMom) guided Rosemary into adulthood and throughout her life.  After graduating from Notre Dame High School, Rosemary moved to California to live with an Aunt where she attended Vallejo Beauty Academy, becoming a licensed Cosmetologist.  In 1960 she met Ron Pistone and fell in love; marrying him on March 21st, 1961 at St Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, NV.

She became an Army wife; Ron was a Lieutenant when they married.  She experienced new adventures moving across the world, to places including Okinawa, Germany, and 17 other locations.  She nurtured her family, made friends, and fulfilled the customs and traditions of an Army Officer’s wife.

Rosemary was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.  She demonstrated her love with family and friends, and also through her sewing, quilting, cooking and rose gardening.  Her Sunday and Holiday dinners were delicious and filled with love, bringing joy to so many people.  She worked hard planting, feeding and grooming over 50 roses.  Her garden brought her joy and comfort.

She was totally devoted to her children, Andrea, Christy, and John, who responded to her care and flourished.  She assisted in their classrooms, encouraged participation in school and community events, and prepared them for life’s challenges.  She had the rare ability to make others feel loved and important, from the youngest to aging seniors.  Her greatest joy was her Grandchildren, who were her angels.  She gave them her very best and was known for bringing cupcakes to classrooms, games and just because.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her father, Tony, her mother, Christine, her older sister Angeline, many in-laws and family members and friends.  She is survived by her husband, Ron of White Rock, NM; her sister Chris Iglesias (Edmundo) of Landenberg, PA; her daughters, Andrea of Los Alamos, NM; Christy Larson of Albuquerque, NM; her son John (Julie) of Issaquah, WA; her grandchildren Ashley and Samantha D’Anna of Los Alamos, NM; Dylan Larson of Midland, TX; Hailey Larson of Manitou Springs, CO; Jade Larson of Albuquerque, NM; Bella and Henry Pistone of Issaquah, WA; and many nieces, nephews and family friends.

Rosemary’s family thanks Nurse Julie and the excellent staff at Los Alamos Visiting Nurses who treated her with respect, gentleness, and kindness; friends and family members who brought love, food, flowers, and encouragement; and Father John Daniel for his blessings.

Friends and family will gather for a Rosary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos on Friday March 17th at 7:00 pm.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 18th at the Betty Ehart Senior Center in Los Alamos at 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Jude Hospital and/or Los Alamos Visiting Nurses.  If you wish to send flowers,  the De Vargas Funeral Home can assist.

Rosemary’s family knows God will embrace her and reunite her with loved ones.

“Remember that you warmed our hearts more often than you know.

Your thoughtfulness and kindness meant more than words could show.

Please know we’ll always treasure every joy we shared together.

We trust in you, believe in you, and love you; and we will forever.”

The family has entrusted the care of Rosemary to DeVargas Funeral Home  623 North Railroad Avenue, Espanola, NM 87532 (505)-747-7477.
