Rose M. - Age 91 - Velarde Montoya

Rose M. Montoya – Age 91 a resident of Velarde passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amadeo Ruben Montoya; 2 sisters: Sylvia Martinez and Adela Casados; 2 brothers: Ramon and Jerry Martinez. She is survived by her children: Marlene Jaramillo and husband Ramos of California, Bennie Montoya and wife Susie of Farmington, Dale Montoya of Velarde, Joseph Montoya and wife Patty of Farmington and Phillip Padilla of Farmington; sister, Olivia Martin of Velarde; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde with burial to follow at Velarde Catholic Cemetery in Velarde.
