Ronnie "Cholo" Martinez

Ronnie B. Martinez “Cholo”, 46, a resident of Cordova, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Martinez, father, Jose Rubel Martinez, brother, Tommy Martinez; nephews, Ryan Caleb Medina and Jaystin Martinez; paternal grandparents, Octavio and Patrocina Martinez, maternal grandparents, Frank Chavez and Carmelita Salazar.  Ronnie was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and a heart so big and pure. He was truly a beautiful soul so full of love and life. Ronnie was very well known and loved by so many friends and relatives. He was well known for his heart.  He always had love to give with open arms.  “I Love You” was always something you would hear before he said “Goodbye”.  He was popular on facebook and would send bendiciones to everyone, every day. Ronnie was a talented self-employed artist. He was a wood carver whom made Virgin Mary’s as well as sunflowers and humming birds and more. He took time on his carvings and loved spending his time working on them. Ronnie is survived by his mother, Angie Chavez and companion Francisco; his children, Matthew, Aaron and Angel Martinez; mother of his children, Charlotte Sandoval; Justin and Heaven Lopez; mother of his children, Julie Lopez; grandchildren, Nevaeh Sandoval and Onivas G. Sandoval, Leah, Mariah, and Elijah Martinez; brother, Joseph Pat Martinez (Denise), sisters, Corrine (Bob Mansfield), Linda (Ramon Granados, Marylou (Lawrence Austin), Carol Martinez and Hilary Bustos; God parents, Junior and Sabinita Ortiz; close aunt, June Garcia (Ralph), close uncles, Octavio Martinez Jr. and Ernesto Salazar, aunts and uncles, Leo (Mary Chavez), Jerry (Janet Barela), Eufelio Chavez (Jane), Myra Salazar, Petrita Salazar, Octavio Junior Martinez, Filiberto Martinez, Dorothy Rael, Mabel Sherwood, Florinda Valdez,  close cousins, Allen Martinez, Manuel Salazar, Dennis Sherwood, Adelmo Salazar, Frankie Martinez, Franchesca and Christin Salazar and all his Facebook friends; best friends, Jake Pacheco and Roy Garcia. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Cordova, with a burial to follow at the Cordova Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Martinez, Aaron Martinez, Justin Lopez, Darren Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Danny Trujillo, Alfred Maestas Jr., and Steven Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are all his children, grandchildren and his two favorite pets, Baby Tiny and Carmelo. The family of Ronnie B.
