RONNIE ROMERO, 48, a resident of Chimayo entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, March 26, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Fabian); grandchildren, Analisa and Dominic; parents, Joe and Maria Romero; brothers, Jose (Brett) and Marcos (Haley); paternal grandmother, Dora Romero; paternal uncle, Roy; paternal aunts, Rose, Nary, Adrina (Ricky), Annabelle (Mike), and Betty (Doug); maternal uncles, Merlin (Lita), Bedelio (Sylvia), maternal aunts, Bertha (Sebedeo) Lillian (Leroy), Louise (Tony), Lucille; many cousins; his best friend, Patrick; friend, Sammy; lifetime friend, Tasha; mother of his daughter, Theresa; his loyal and faithful dog, Luna and many more family and friends fondly remembered but too many to mention. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Avaristo Romero, maternal grandparents, Juan and Adelina Trujillo, maternal great-grandparents, Leonires and Vivianita Lopez, paternal great-grandparents, Candido and Sarita Romero; uncles, Bruce Romero, Genaro and Roberto Trujillo; cousins, Willie, Raul, Joaquin Salazar, Gerald Trujillo and Bobby Trujillo. Ronnie was a person of strong faith who loved God and who read the bible daily. Ronnie was a very respectful, peaceful, kind, compassionate, caring and friendly, but quiet, gentle man. He loved his family dearly and whole heartedly. He loved low riders and cruising the ’47 with his Dad and watching basketball and football games. “What we once enjoyed we can never lose, all that we love deeply becomes a part of us”. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Senora de Carmel Cemetery. The family will gather for a meal at 2:00 p.m. at the Chimayo Arbolera Senior Center. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jose Romero, Jesse and Ivan Maestas, Jonathan and Ricky Cordova, Patrick Vargas and Sammy Sherwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Martinez, Leroy Maestas, Jason Cordova, Brett Stump and Horace Garcia. The family of Ronnie Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
