Ronnie Martinez

RONNIE R. MARTINEZ AKA "RONNIE RABBIT", 57, passed away on February 19, 2018 in Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond T. and Gloria M. Martinez; sisters, Melinda and Phyelma Martinez. He retired from the New Mexico Corrections Department. He received a Medal of Honor for his service during the 1980 State prison riot. Ronnie was very outgoing. He would say he lives each day as if it were his last and that he did. Everyone who knew or met him left with laughter. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and the great outdoors. Ronnie is survived by his children, Monique Martinez, Ronnie Martinez Jr., Angelica Martinez (Wil Fresquez) all from Albuquerque and Antonio Martinez from Espanola; grandchildren, Mariska and Miles Bachicha, Alexander and Zayde Fresquez all from Albuquerque; brothers and sisters, Diana Ortiz (Dennis) from Chimayo, Janet Martinez-Archuleta (Tony) from El Rito, Aaron Martinez (Mary) from Chili, Jerry Martinez (Sheri) and Michole Pana (Joseph) all from Upper San Pedro; mother of his children, Cyndi Salazar from Chama and Yvonne Martinez from La Mesilla and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at La Iglesias de Santa Cruz de la Canada.
