Roman Padilla

Roman H. Padilla, 71, a resident of Rio Chama, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleto and Tomacita Padilla; biological parents, Maclovio and Floripa Mondragon; siblings, Gilbert, Gloria, Rudy, Alex, Larry, and Eloy Mondragon; grandparents, Atanacio and Atircia Trujillo; granddaughter, Shanise Corine Padilla; first wife, Corrine Trujillo; sisters-in-law, Rosie, Esther, Patsy and Mayra, and Senaida Mondragon, and Irma Lujan, brother-in-law, Jorge Garcia; in-laws, Jesus and Aurora Garcia; compadre and best friend, Pancho Balderrama, and very close cousins and friends, Tito and Evan McCoy. Roman is survived by his wife Pilar Padilla; children, Alvin Padilla and his children, Leonard, Matthew, Jordan Padilla, and Lilly Martinez, Marcos Padilla and his son Marcos Padilla Jr. and companion, Percinia Maestas, Vanessa Diaz and husband Jesus Diaz and children Christina, Jesus Jr., and Julian, Tomacita Dominguez and husband Adrian Dominguez and daughters Adrianna, Karianna and Julianna, Roman Padilla Jr., and companion Shana Mendoza and son Roman Padilla III; two great grandsons, Julius and Gabriel Padilla. Brothers, Albert Mondragon and companion Cathy Martinez, and Nick Mondragon; sister, Virginia Pacheco; sisters-in-law, Margie and Dorene Mondragon; brother and sister in law whom he raised, Greg and Ruth Trujillo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tato and Lupe Garcia, Arturo and Lupe Rico, Jesus and Moraima Garcia, Victor and Eliza Garcia, Clemente Lujan, Manuel and Carmen Castillo, Efrain and Luz Carbajal; brother in Christ and good friend, Ed Orbaker; very close cousins and friends, Sam and Georgia Trujillo, and Hunting Buddy, Pat Trujillo and numerous other family and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. A second public visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Espanola, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are, Alvin Padilla, Marcos Padilla, Roman Padilla Jr., Adrian Dominguez, Jesus Diaz and Hector Lujan. Honorary pallbearers will be his God children, Denise Rico, Annette Martinez, Dennis Ray Gomez, Herman Mondragon, Dennis Pacheco, Jerry Mondragon, Elias Balderrama, Michael Padilla, Archie Trujillo, Luis Triviño and nephew Larry Mondragon. Mr. Padilla’s family would like to send a special thanks to caregiver and brotherly friend, Raymond Medina, Addus/VNS caregivers, Hospice Therapist Julian, and nurses for being with their father during his final days. The family of Roman H. Padilla has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
