Roman Martinez

We are sad to announce the passing of Roman Martinez of Ensenada, New Mexico. Roman passed away on September 10, 2022 at the age of 27. Roman is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert & Rose Martinez & brother, Gary Mora Jr.. Roman is survived by his parents; Gary & Rachel Mora, his sister; Rayann Mora, his grandparents; Roger & Annabelle Mora, Nina & Nino; Becky & Luis Martinez, Aunts & Uncles; Ramona Martinez, Madeline & Nick Casados, Cousins; Garrett Martinez, MandiAnn Casados & Nicholas Casados and so many more relatives and friends. Roman was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on March 30, 1995. He was a graduate of Escalante High School, Class of 2013. He then attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. After attending NMHU, he went on to work at the Rio Arriba County Detention Center where he worked for 4 years, he then got his CDL and worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation for a short time, before moving on to the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a heavy equipment operator. All through his life he enjoyed spending time with family and hanging out with friends. He loved to rope, hunt, fish, and most recently enjoyed going for rides on his bike to the mountains with his friends. He had such an outgoing personality and always wanted the best for people. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. We hope you are singing and dancing in the sky watching over all of us and giving our nana, Robert, and brother a deep hug. 

A rosary will take place on Friday September 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and a mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Parish Church in Los Ojos, NM.

Pallbearers Include: Garrett Martinez, Sean Ulibarri, Felix Archuleta, Gilbert (Gibby) Martinez, Anthony Paul Martinez, Jonathan Coriz, Waylon Hinds, and LJ Bustos.
