Robert R. - Age 42 Montoya

Robert R. Montoya – Age 42 a resident of Velarde passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Cordelia and Reyes Roybal; paternal grandparents: Jose Ignacio and Carlota Montoya; and brother-in-law, Steve Romero. Robert enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he loved his children and was a great father, everyone was his best friend. He always parted by saying, “I Love You”. He loved to fish and all kinds of music. He was the greatest practical joker. He is survived by his sons: Chase and Rylee Montoya; daughter, Ava Montoya; parents: Benny and Mildred Montoya; sister, Leslie Romero; brothers: Frank Montoya and wife Mari and Benny Montoya and wife Gina; Godson, Daniel Roybal; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial will follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Aaron Jones, Calvin Martinez, Mino “Bubba” Martinez, Donald Lopez, Matthew Montoya and Anthony Romero. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Denise Romero, Clarence Roybal, Jr., Carlos Montoya, Tito Romero, Christy Roybal, Andrew Sanchez and Daniel Roybal. The family of Robert R.
