Robert E. - Age 71 - Albuquerque/Española Martinez

ROBERT E. MARTINEZ "BOBBY", 71, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Española, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Robert was a 1959 graduate of Española Valley High School. Robert moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1965 where he lived until 1979 when he moved to Albuquerque and opened Hair Odyssey. In 1991, he opened Dos Hermanos Restaurant which his son operated for the next twenty years. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Eddie C. Martinez. Mr. Martinez is survived by his mother, Jessie R. Martinez; sons, Robert Jr. of Torrance, CA and John Martinez and his wife Marlene "Sam" of Albuquerque; 3 grandchildren, Robert James and Brett both of California and Kristen Martinez of Phoenix, AZ; 3 great-grandsons, Parker, Colton and Cash; mother of his sons, Veronica Garcia Gibilaro; sister, Emily Maestas of Española; brother, Mike Martinez of Albuquerque; a very dear cousin, Gloria Vigil; 2 dear friends, Horacio and Lala and many other close friends. Robert was very proud of his many nieces and nephew. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. The family of Robert E. Martinez “Bobby” has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
