Robert (Booty) Bustos

ROBERT (BOOTY) BUSTOS, 63, a resident of Española, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Virginia Mae Bustos; brother, Johnny A. Bustos; maternal grandparents, Isidoro and Magdalena Montaño; paternal grandparents, Jose D. and Elena Bustos. Robert was a longtime employee of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. He loved riding his motorcycle, often times in the mountains of Northern New Mexico with his friends for a cause or alone to enjoy the beauty of nature. He loved to play golf, fish and games of chance. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Robert had a kind and generous spirit and was a friend to everyone he met. His faith in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer carried him throughout his lifetime. He is loved by many and will be missed dearly. Robert is survived by his parents, Dan and Rosalie Bustos of Española; children, Maria Schwinkendorf (Steve) of Pahrump, Nevada, Bobby Bustos, Jr. (Cristina) of Española, Jeremiah Bustos, Crystal Bustos (Sean) and James Caleb Bustos all of Rio Rancho; brothers, Jimmy Bustos (Lucille) of Arlington, Texas, Danny Bustos of Española; sister, Bea Jurgensen (Kenn) of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Isaac Padilla of Truchas, NM,  Xavier and Zeus Schwinkendorf of Pahrump, Nevada, Jacob Caceres of Rio Rancho, Bobby Bustos III of San Diego, CA, Lydia Ann Bustos of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jayson Bustos of Española; special great-nieces, Autumn Mae Jurgensen of Santa Fe and Isabella Rose Bustos of Arlington, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Bobby Bustos, Jr., Mike Purdy, Dicky Vigil, Joel Vigil, Mark Villalobos, and Kenn Jurgensen. Honorary pallbearers named are: Jimmy Bustos, Danny Bustos and Bea Jurgensen. The family of Robert (Booty) Bustos has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
