Robert "Bobby" M. - Age 73 - Gallin Vigil

Robert “Bobby” M. Vigil, 73, a resident of Gallina, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricio and Soledad Maestas Vigil; brothers, Arturo and Pat M. Vigil. Bobby worked for Federal Government for 35 years, many of those years were for the Santa Fe National Forest. Bobby’s passions were ranching and spending time with his family and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Mr. Vigil is survived by his son, Robert Vigil, Jr, daughter, Janess Vigil; grandsons, Antonio Vigil, Marcus Vigil, granddaughter, Alia Vigil; brother, Julian Vigil (Emily) all of Gallina, sisters, Olivia Vigil of Española, Linda Vigil and Elvira Rodriguez of Albuquerque and Helen Vigil (Jake) of El Rito; sister-in-law, Mary Vigil of Gallina and several nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina with full military honors. Burial to follow at the Gallina Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Jeff Vigil, Bryan Vigil, Patrick Rodriguez, Kevin Vigil, Michael Rodriguez, and Andre Cordova, honorary pallbearers Adelmo Anglada, Jake Vigil, Jimmy Rodriguez, Orlando Maestas and Leo Chavez. The family of Robert “Bobby” M. Vigil has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
