Robert Patton

As of October 10, 2022, it is with profound sadness and loss that we announce the passing of our son, brother, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, relative, and friend to all whose lives he touched and played a role in. He departed us at the young age of 68yrs old and despite living such a short life, he managed to leave a lasting impression on each of us in his own unique way. 

A lifelong resident of Espanola, Robert was born on November 20, 1953, to Robert and Florence Patton and spent his childhood and adult years supporting the family farm in Ranchitos.  Robert was a dedicated boy scouts and spent lots of time in the back country including weeks in Canada with the Explorers. 

Robert was a 1972 Hornets graduate from Espanola High School. He worked several jobs around Espanola including a manager position at TG&Y before finding his home working for Los Alamos National Laboratory - where he retired in 2016 after 43yrs of service.  Robert was known by those closest to him for celebrating the good things in life, staying true to his character, and telling you like it was even if it wasn't needed.  He enjoyed RVing, camping, and making those around him never stop laughing.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents/God-parents Elias and Aurelia (Dear) Vigil and grandparents Robert "Pete" and Eva Patton, his father, Robert J. Patton, and brother, Jeff Patton.

Robert is survived by his Mother Florence Patton of Espanola.  Son, Robert Patton Jr (Alyssa) of Los Alamos, and daughter Shaylee Roybal (Matthew) of Chimayo. Sisters Dianna Vigil (Tim) of Rio Rancho and Janice Valdez (Phillip) of Espanola. Grand Children Brianna Patton (Tyler), Darius Patton and DeSean Patton, Great-Grand Daughter Karina Carruth, Godson Mark Maestas and numerous nieces and nephews who had a special place in his heart. 

A rosary will take place on Monday October 24, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Herman Martinez, Ricky Salazar, Rocky Trujillo, Orlando Griego, Albert Martinez, Tim Vigil, Larry Vigil, and Anthony George.

Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren (Brianna Patton, Darius Patton, and DeSean Patton) and great-granddaughter (Katrina Carruth).
