Robert Montoya

ROBERT GILBERT MONTOYA, 73, a resident of Lumberton NM, succumbed to cancer at the comfort of his home surrounded by close family on Sunday April 26, 2020. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Rosenaldo, Canuto, and Antonio Montoya. He was the husband of Linda Montoya they shared 49 wonderful years together. Born in Lumberton NM he was the son of Raynaldo and Adelaida Montoya. Robert was employed by the Rio Arriba county for 27 years and retired in 2000. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi church in Lumberton. Robert loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as working with and fixing his tractor. Robert is survived by his wife Linda Montoya; children, Nancy (Robert), Michelle (Bobby), Kimberly, Mercedes and Melando; six grandkids, Victoria, Keisha, Vanessa, Onycha, Jacob, and Onyclare, seven great grandchildren, Omri, Valena, Kane, Zaylee, Verenzo, Kaylani and Jhene as well as three sisters-in-law, Flora, Virginia, and  Francis Montoya; with an abundance of nieces, nephews. Robert will be laid to rest at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers are Michael Cordova, Johnny Martinez, Robert Talamante, Bernard Inez, David Montoya, Ben Gallegos, Ray Tafoya, Bobby Martinez, Leonard Gonzales, Steven Herrera, Ralph Montoya and all of his great grandchildren.
