In Loving Memory of Robert Edward Tafoya Sr., a resident of La Villita, NM, whom was called Bobby, by his mother, father, sisters, brother, and some of his friends.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Edward Tafoya Sr., who departed this life on the evening of March 6, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family and friends, Robert peacefully reached for the hand of God and followed Him home.

He was preceded in death by his sons Jonathan Tafoya, Robert Tafoya Jr.;parents Benito and Terecina Tafoya; father and mother In-law Benito and Julia Lucero; brother Leroy Tafoya; sisters Ida Quintana and Mary Lou Tafoya; uncles and aunts Fred and Ignacia Martinez, Danny and Frances Bustos, Thomas Bustos; brothers-in-law Frank Lucero, Ernesto Cordova and Alfonzo Lopez; sisters-in-law Vangie Tafoya and Helen Lucero; cousins Felix Bustos, Joe and Mary Frances Griego; nephews Ricky Lucero and Patrick Lopez; along with numerous beloved family members who now welcome him into eternal rest.

He is survived by his loving wife Cathy Tafoya; son Eddie (Carla) Tafoya; daughters Maria and Prescilla Tafoya; grandchildren Dominque Sugar and family, DeJahn Tafoya, DeJa Tafoya, Jonathan Tafoya, Nevan Gallegos, AnnaMarie and her daughter Aurora, Alyssa, Samantha, Seana, and Francisca, brothers-in-law Willie (Priscilla) Lucero and Luis Quintana; sisters-in-law Rose Cordova and Rita (Barton) Thom; nephews Mavilis (Rosita) Tafoya, Benito (Gloria) Cordova; nieces Cynthia and Julianita Gallegos and Jane (Ben) Valdez; God-daughters Victoria Martinez, Amanda Thom and Alexis Tripp; along with too many relatives and friends to name, but who were very special to him and loved greatly.

A Celebration of Robert Sr.'s Life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at El Buen Pastor Church in Espanola, NM, at 10:00 am (viewing at 9:00 am). Christian Burial will follow at the New Life Church Assembly Cemetery in Hernandez, NM, on Friday, March 28, 2025, after the service.
