Robert - Age 82 - Gallina - Martinez

Robert A. Martinez, age 82, a lifelong resident of Gallina, went home peacefully on Tuesday, July 09, 2013. He was born in Abiquiu on November 30, 1931. He peacefully went home to be with our Lord and reunited with his parents, Antonio and Teodorita Martinez; brothers, Tomas, Sisto, and Antonio Martinez Jr. and sister Frances Herrera. Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edith Martinez; daughters, Delma Shen and husband Hui Chien of Albuquerque, Nancy Morreale and husband Joseph of Albuquerque; son, Ernest Martinez of Gallina; grandsons, Christopher Shen, and Bryan Morreale, and many nieces and nephews. Robert worked as a lumberjack for 45 years. Robert was full of life, with a great sense of humor and was an avid sportsman who loved being outdoors. The family of Mr. Martinez would like to thank our dear friends and family who would visit and pray with him. Public visitation will begin on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina, with a burial to follow at the family plot in Gallina. The family of Robert Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
