Ricky (Hector) Martinez

Ricky (Hector) Lee Martinez , age 60, a resident of Chimayo, born on September 10, 1958 and passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Dolores; brothers, Ronnie (Moosie) and baby brother, Carmen and nephew, Michael "Mikie" Esquibel.  Ricky was born in Montana, but resided in Chimayo for most of his life. Ricky was a self-employed plasterer and took pride in his work as well as working with others. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends and lived life to the fullest. Ricky Hector (pops) beloved father, brother, son, uncle and friend will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Martinez is survived by children, Melissa (Danny), Donna Lee (Roger), Gere (Jorge), Cassie (Horacio) and Rickie (Naomi), 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny of Chimayo; sisters, Juanita (Kevin) of Nevada, Anita (Max) of Cuarteles, Gina (Carlos) of Chimayo and God-son, Danny Esquibel and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial to follow at El Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Danny Esquibel, Alejandro Esquibel, Eric Garcia, Marc Anthony Garcia, Horacio Garcia, and Jason Martinez.  Honorary pallbearers are Max Esquibel, Kenny Martinez, Juan Carlos Garcia and Tito Ortiz. The family of Ricky (Hector) Lee Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
