RICHARD D. CORDOVA, a resident of Gallina, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Elsira Cordova; infant son, Richard, Jr.; sisters, Bertha Sanchez, and Ruth Arellano; brother, Isaac Cordova; maternal grandparents, Amarante and Petrita Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Donaciano and Delfinia Cordova; son-in-law, Gilbert Salazar, Jr.; brother-in-law, Ralph Trujillo and several beloved nieces and nephews. Richard was an avid traveler and outdoorsman. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many. Mr. Cordova is survived by his longtime companion, Lorraine Abeyta; mother of his children, Rose Cordova; children, Frank David Cordova, Alfredo S. Cordova, Frieda Cordova and Nadine Cordova; sisters, Marcella Lomheim and husband Roger, Dixie Trujillo and Irene Rodriguez and husband Floyd; brothers, Don Cordova and wife Rachel, Tessie and Louie Valdez and Henry Martinez; grandchildren, Antonio, Christina, Alexander, Francesca, Alfred II, Brianna Rose, Richard, Christopher, Adam, Victoria, Alejandra, Anita and Mossimo; 10 special step-grandchildren, Ashley, Lorissa, Isiah, Michaiah, Matthew, Kayleigh, Zachary, Jaxon, Bethany and Lucas; 8 great-grandchildren; special brothers-in-law, Eusebio Arellano and Pascual Sanchez; 3 God-children, Dickie Cordova, Katherine Ortega, and Brittney Salazar and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Honorary pallbearers named are, Adam Garcia, Alfred Cordova II, Ubaldo Barela, Richard Salazar, Christopher Salazar, Rudy, Matthew, and Melissa Abeyta, Anthony Mendez, Senator Richard Martinez, Alexander Cordova and Mossimo Gutierrez. The family of Richard D. Cordova has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
