Remigio Martinez, 77, a resident of La Puebla, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Remigio was preceded in death by his son, Randy Martinez, daughter, Diana Martinez; granddaughter, Miranda Martinez; mother, Josephina Maestas, father, Manuel Martinez; step-father, Eduardo Maestas; In-laws, Dolores and Luis Montoya; sister, Estefanita Maestas, brother, Cicilio Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ofelia Martinez of Chimayo/La Puebla; children, Remigio Robert Martinez, Gerald Martinez, Leonard Martinez, Marty Martinez; grandchildren, Juanita Phelan (Daniel), Leticia Martinez, Ofelia Martinez, Randy Martinez, Marty Martinez Jr., Melanie Mason Martinez, great-grandchildren, Dominic, Gabriel, Evanissa, Isabella, Leila, Cielo; brothers and sisters, Eppie Martinez (Estevan), Manuel Martinez (Antonia), Bernie Vigil, Candie Chacon, Stephanita Martinez (Pula); sister-in-law, Bertha Trujillo; daughter-in-law, Elaine Martinez; very close family friend, Marmi Martinez, and numerous other loving relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will be at a later date. Serving as pallbearers Robert, Gerald, Leonard Martinez, Dominic Gallegos, and Randy Martinez, Fabian Quintana, honorary pallbearers Marmi Martinez. The family of Remigio Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n
