Rebecca E Romero

REBECCA E. ROMERO, 87, a resident of Velarde, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Malaquias and Rosanna Esquibel; siblings, Henry, Arturo, and Tomacito Esquibel, Ninfa Griego, and Priscilla and Juanita Esquibel; father of her children, Adonio Romero; in-laws, Manuel and Bersabe Romero; brothers and sisters-law, Tom Martinez, Benardo Valdez, Naedina Esquibel and special nephew, Manuelito Romero. She is survived by her children, Edward Romero (Sonia), Marie Benavidez (George), and Eva Martinez (Deryl); grandchildren, Tino Benavidez, Mario Benavidez, Manuel Romero, Jennifer and Vicente Romero, Ray and Noaa Martinez; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anita Valdez, Cordy Martinez, and Horace Esquibel (Pablita); in-laws, Mary Montoya, Tommy Martinez, Joe Romero (Mary), Angela Esquibel, Cecilia Romero and many nieces, nephews, relatives, God-children and friends. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial will be held at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery. The family of Rebecca E. Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
