Rebecca - Age 96 - Alcalde - Salazar

REBECCA G. SALAZAR, 96, a lifelong resident of Alcalde, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernardino “Pisa” Salazar; son, Henry Salazar; grandson, Bernardino “Dino” Padilla; parents, Enrique and Anita Guillen; sister, Teresina Galvez; brothers, Phillip, Tranquilino and Henry “Dicky” Guillen; brothers-in-law, Dionicio Galvez and Merce Villareal and sister-in-law, Rebecca Diaz. Mrs. Salazar is survived by her children, Theresa Flores and husband Jim of Alcalde, June Leyba, Maynard Salazar and wife Mary all of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Justin Gaussoin of San Francisco, CA., James and Janaka Flores of Alcalde, David Padilla (Felicia), Marcus and Brittani Leyba, Vidal and Enrique Salazar all of Santa Fe, Jeremy Lee and Lindsey Salazar from Albuquerque; sister, Clarabelle Villareal of Albuquerque; brother, Elmer Guillen and wife Frances; special niece, Mellie Kain and husband Robert all of Española; sisters-in-laws, Matilda and Bette Guillen of Espanola, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregiver, Agatha Salazar. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Alcalde. Burial to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, David Padilla, Justin Gaussoin, Marcus Leyba, James Flores, Vidal Salazar, Enrique Salazar, Frank “Pancho” Galvez and Mark Villareal. The family of Rebecca G. Salazar has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
