Raymond “Ramon” T. Martinez 69, born July 23, 1945, a resident of Chimayo New Mexico was unexpectedly taken from us on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Teresita and Esquipula Martinez, his brothers Floyd Martinez and Carlos Martinez. His in-laws Max Martinez, Maria S. Martinez, and Juan B. Lucero, Sister In-laws, Mariquita Martinez, Celina Martinez, Brother in-law James Salazar Sr. and Son in-law Albert Diaz. Raymond was a retired laborer for Los Alamos County. He was a very friendly person who was always willing to help anyone with anything he could. He had a very outgoing nature and could put a smile on your face with just a few words, together, with his unique sense of humor, laughs were never in short supply. He was always dedicated to his “38 Oldsmobile” that he built from the bottom up and continued to customize his “oldie” every chance he got. Family, Friends, and God were very important to him and he loved us all. His favorite saying was “Dios es el del poder” He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Raymond is survived by his loving wife Concha Martinez of 47 years whom he cherished and loved dearly, his six loving children, Cindy, Annabelle, Elmer (Faith), Ronnie (Shay), Ray (Barbara), Connie (Jody). His precious grand Children whom he raised as his own and loved so dearly Jaden Martinez, Danika Martinez and Amanda Martinez, grandchildren, Ray Jr, Jeremy, Angel, Justin, Shaylee Ray, Daveigh, Ashley, Jolene, Albert, Kamryn, John Paul, and Javen. Great grandchildren, Jeremy Jr, Raylee, Karlee Ray and Kaylee Ray, God-Daughters, Jennifer, Lorraine and Angel; his Brothers Horacio Martinez (Rosina), Orlando Martinez, his sister Ida Salazar, his in-laws, Judy Martinez (Paul), Cathy Vissaraga (Paul), Mary Ortiz (Jimmy), Helen Martinez, Israel Martinez (Edna), Tony Martinez (Evila), Herson Vigil (Jane), Max Martinez and many other relatives and friends (too many to mention) but the family wants you to know how important you all were to him. Raymond died as he lived and fought hard till the very end. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora De Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers are: Jerry Romero, Anthony Ruiz, Ray, Ronnie, Elmer, Justin, Jeremy, Ray Jr., Jody, and Santiago. Honorary pallbearers named are his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family of Raymond T.
