Raymond - Age 38 - Española - Montoya

RAYMOND “RAY” MONTOYA, 38, a resident of Española, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2011 following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Robert S. Montoya Jr.; beloved father, Robert (Bobby) Montoya; grandparents, Roman and Rosa Torres (Las Vegas) and Donicio and Maria Montoya (Los Alamos) and aunt, Stella Montoya (Los Alamos). Raymond graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a Bachelor of Science. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He was always eager to share his fish or pass out some of his jerky to friends and family. Mr. Montoya is survived by his daughter, Hannah Montoya; mother, Judy Montoya; sisters, Rose Marie Sherman and husband Michael of Santa Fe, Carmen Allen and husband Mark of Albuquerque, Anita Gutierrez of Española and Theresa Word and husband Marcus of Pueblo, Colorado; nieces, Gianna Hamilton, Brittany Gutierrez, Michelle Sherman and Katie Allen; aunts, Ruth Jaramillo, Margie Montoya and Dolores Martinez; uncles, Vincent, Alby, Leroy, Dennis and Johnny Montoya and Ray Torres and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Private burial to take place at a later date.
