RAMONA (Geneva) ROMERO JANECEK, 83,  our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family in Sombrillo, NM on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Luz Martinez; brother, Benito Martinez, sisters, Rosario Gutierrez, and Alice Lopez. She was born August 5, 1933 to her father Pablo Martinez and mother, Luz Lopez Martinez in Pecos, NM. Ramona loved her family immensely. Family is what she lived for. She had the biggest heart, she was always concerned about everyone’s wellbeing. You were an angel here on earth mom, we all learned so much from you. You were the glue that kept this family together. You were so gentle and so kind, your beautiful smile will be so missed by all who knew and loved you. Ramona is survived by her children, Sandra, Jesse, and Angelo Romero; sisters, Pauline Candie, Consuelo Dominguez, Roberta Perez, Josie Roybal, Arlene Muhich, and Mary Kerr; grandchildren, Jesse (Rocky) Romero and wife Fran, Gerold Lopez, Erica Martinez Lovato and husband Daniel, Angelica Martinez, Eldieanna Sandoval, great-grandchildren, Christiah Martinez, Landen Sandoval, Dylan Lovato, Shanin Lopez, Tyra Lopez, Dante, Shante, and Devon Ortega, and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Santa Fe. Serving the family as pallbearers, Jesse (Rocky) Romero, Gerold Lopez, Daniel Lovato, Christian Martinez, Joseph Salazar, and Leroy Romero, honorary pallbearers are Caletano Benito Romero, Guillermo Dominquez, Frank Olivas, James Whittington, and Pablo (Paul) Gutierrez.  The family of Ramona G.
