Ramona - Pojoaque - Maestas

Ramona Maestas, A resident of Pojoaque passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Sunday, June 30, 2013. Mrs. Maestas was preceded in death by her Husband Ernest Maestas; son Marcos Maestas; parents Jose and Josephina Arrietta. Mrs. Maestas always had her heart set in California, where she spent many years of her life. She loved quilting, reading, and listening to music. Her culture was very important to her, attending all feast days, pow wows and Lenten services at the Morada in Ancones. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her children, Rick Maestas, Laura Griego and companion Benjamin Perez, Jesse Maestas; brothers, George Arrietta, Edward Arrietta; sister, Bertha Romero; grandchildren Leonard, Daniel and Lorena Griego, Milinda and Angelica Maestas; nieces, Lenora and Lisa; nephews, Mike and Santo; special native prince, Lee Moquino. Special thank you to all those who visited her during her illness and to Jose Duran Jr. who always brought a smile to her face and making her feel comfortable at all times. Rosary will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Madera with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in La Madera. The family of Ramona Maestas has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
