Ramon Olivas was born December 17, 1954, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011. Ramon has worked with the disabled, as a general contractor, parole/probation officer, apartment manager but was always an entrepreneur. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Sireno Olivas; sisters: Francis “Pancha” Padilla, Guadalupe Hosek and Mary Olivas; brothers: John Tso Olivas, Steven Olivas and Sotero Olivas. Ramon was a thoughtful person who was always seeking to help people in need. He is survived by his 3 sons: Edward, in Espanola, and Danno & Michael Olivas with their 1 and 2 daughters respectively: Johanna, Isabella and Scarlett respectively, in Portland, Oregon. Ramon is also survived by his sisters: Gloria Madrid of Albuquerque and Susie Baca of Albuquerque; brothers: Joe Olivas of Ranchitos, Manuel Olivas of Santa Fe, Michael Olivas and Danny Olivas both of Ranchitos; and nephews raised as brothers: Jude Torres and of Santa Fe, Oliver (Jay) Torres of San Juan Pueblo. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh.
