Ramon “Matthew” Archuleta, 54, a lifelong resident of Espanola, NM passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 24, 2020.
He was born August 30, 1965 to Ramon and Octavianita Archuleta.
Matthew was an employee of McDonald’s for 20 years. He graduated in 1983 from the Alamogordo School for the visually handicap, where he was Valedictorian. He was the biggest fan of the Dallas Cowboys and National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). He liked to go fishing, play cards with his Mother and wrote hundreds of thousands of wrestling trivia questions. Matthew will always be remembered for the kindness and love he showed his family, especially to his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon Archuleta; maternal grandparents, Felix and Perfilia Herrera; maternal uncles, Isidoro and Phil Herrera; maternal aunt, Benita Herrera; paternal uncle, Frank Archuleta; and close friend, Abedon Lujan.
He is survived by his beloved mother and caregiver, Octavianita Archuleta; brothers, Felix Archuleta (Michelle), Joseph Archuleta, and Donaldo Archuleta (Alichia Sanchez); sisters, Glenda Rodriguez and Margaret Archuleta; maternal aunt, Rose Norris; nieces, Felicia Archuleta-Toya (Ryan), Diana Padilla (Keith), Jessica Romero, Liza Archuleta (Jacob), Alexandra Archuleta, Mariah Archuleta, and Justine Martinez; nephews, Jason Archuleta, Joseph Archuleta, Manuel Otero and Raymond Archuleta; great-nephews, Noah Garcia (his hito), Joseph Archuleta Jr., and Liam Toya; great nieces, Savannah Gallegos, Trinity Archuleta, Crystal Garcia, Abigail Otero, Riley Osegueda, Adrielle and Lilly Padilla, JayLynn Romero and Aryanna and Xyanna Jaramillo; godmother, Mickey Jaramillo; and close family friend, Pablita Lujan. .
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rock Christian Fellowship in Española. Burial will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Los Ojos Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Noah Garcia, Ronald Herrera, Keith Padilla, Jason Archuleta, Jacob Osegueda, and Ryan Toya. Honorary Pallbearers named are all of his nieces and nephews. The family of Ramon "Matthew" Archuleta have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
