Ramon - Age 92 - San Pedro - Fresquez

RAMON PEDRO FRESQUEZ, 92, a lifelong resident of San Pedro, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Antonia Fresquez; grandparents, Jose Ignacio and Romanita Fresquez;, Clorinda Sanchez Fresquez his wife of 69 years and brother, Samuel Fresquez. Ramon was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, crossword puzzles, horse races and gambling. He was the oldest living member of the Santisima Trinidad and was the oldest living member of the American Legion, Post 17. Mr. Fresquez is survived by his children, Louie Fresquez and wife Rachel of San Pedro, David Fresquez and wife Loretta, Robert Fresquez and wife Annabella all of La Mesilla, Jude Wheat and husband Billie of Rio Rancho, Paul Fresquez and wife Barbara, Chris Fresquez and wife Renee all of La Mesilla; special friend who was like a son, Julian Romero and wife Frances and their children, Monica and Jessica of Cuyamungue; grandchildren, Brenda, Lawrence, Michael, Jennifer and Charles Fresquez, Francine Ortiz, Robert Ray Fresquez, Bryan and Michael Wheat, Paul, Joseph, John, Joshua, Gabrielle and Luke Fresquez; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Martinez, Teresita Moya, Frances Valerio and husband Pat and Lourdes Chavez and husband Anthony; brothers, Joe Fresquez and wife Helen and Pete Fresquez and wife Lydia; God-children, Phillip Fresquez, Greg Chavez, Barbara Musgrave and Priscilla (Marian) Perez and numerous special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, a special thank you to his caretakers, Matilde, Adriana and Yolanda. A rosary to be recited on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Cañada. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de Cañada. Burial to take place on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Lawrence, Michael, Charles and Robert Fresquez, Michael Wheat, Paul, Joseph, John and Joshua Fresquez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Leonard Valerio, Annette Atencio, Manny Chavez, Judge Stephen Salazar, Carmela Martinez, Lourdes Gallegos, Sixto Maestas, Ida and Dolores Salazar. The family of Ramon Pedro Fresquez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
