Rafelita - age 94 - Arroyo de Agua Lujan - Martinez

Rafelita Lujan Martinez, 94, born on December 9, 1919 passed away in her home in Arroyo de Agua on March 3, 2014 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Rafelita was loved by many. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and for the love and tortillas she shared with everyone in her life. Rafelita was preceded in death by her parents, Agapito and Petrolina Lujan; her loving husband, Alfredo P. Martinez; brothers, Miguel, Octaviano, and Daniel Lujan; sister, Dulcinea Lujan; sons, Joseph and Lonnie Martinez. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her sons, Larry, Alfred and Manuel Martinez; close and loved nephew, David Lujan; daughters, Precilla Herrera and husband Don, Bernice Herrera and Joyce Redding; adopted daughter, Eliza Montoya and husband Norman.; 28 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church in Gallina, with a burial to follow at the Cemetery in Coyote, with the following serving as pallbearers, Salomon Martinez, James Herrera, Ryan Sauage, Steve Herrera, Kenny Martinez Jr., and Manuel Martinez Jr. Honorary Pallbearer’s names are Joe Henry Romero, Janice Martinez, Jordan Triana, Gloria Martinez, Salvador Powell, Larry Martinez Jr., Amos Martinez, and Alonso Lovato. The family of Rafelita Lujan Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n \r\n
