RAFAELITA MARTINEZ, 76, a resident of La Villita, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Adonelia Aragon; father and mother-in-law, Jose Hilario and Edumenia Martinez; brother and sisters-in-law, Eppie and Alex Martinez, Everardo Montoya, Angie Roybal, Sandra Duran and Mary Jo Cobos. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Reyes Martinez; sons, Lucas (Stephanie) Martinez of Alcalde, Robert (Teresa) Martinez of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Alicia, Lucas, Michael (Elizabeth), Stephen and Angelo; great-grandchildren, Miguel and Marisela; sister, Patricia (Tommy) Aragon; brother, Rudy Aragon; God-children, Pablo Medina, Michelle Roybal, Michael Martinez; nephews and nieces, Kelly Duran and family, Timmy (Olivia) Linton and family, Candalyn Linton and family, Jennifer (Mario) Trujillo and family, Lex Martinez and family, Brian Martinez and family, Susie Trujillo, Elvira Edmonds, Lupe and Meliton Medina and many friends and co-workers. A special thank you to Clyde Valdez for everything you do. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the La Villita Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Lucas, Alicia, Michael, Stephen, Angelo Martinez and Kelly Duran. The family of Rafaelita Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
