PITA VIGIL ARCHULETA, 88, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Pita was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Manuel Vigil, Angelita Sandoval; brothers, Thomas and Frank Vigil, sister, Lorencita Ortega; husband, Ruben Archuleta; infant daughter, Maria Elena, daughter, Betty Stringer, son, Tommy Aguilar; granddaughter, Elsabeth Vigil. Pita enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching novelas, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and she was known to many for her tortillas. Pita is survived by her children, Jennie Gonzales (Fidel), Joe Archuleta (Cheryl), Pat Archuleta, Leo Vigil (Liz), Carol Roybal (Gary); 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosario Chapel, 499 North Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. also at Rosario Chapel in Santa Fe. A reception will follow the mass.
