Pilar - Age 84 - Nambe - Baca

Pilar “Smiley” Baca – Age 84 a resident of Nambe passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Alice Baca; son: John Baca; parents, Ricardo and Maria C. Baca; grandsons: Michael Nieto and Daniel Romero; brothers, Joaquin and Ned; and son-in-law, Dennis Nieto. Pilar was raised in Peña Blanca. He loved fishing and gardening and raised his children to be hard workers. He had a big heart and loved his family very much. His family loved his piñon, jerky and breadmaking. He is survived by his son, Raymond R. Baca of Nambe Pueblo; daughters: Barbara Nieto, Charlene Baca, Annette Montoya, Martha Romero and Mario, Laura Benavidez, Karla Baca and companion Pete Paniagua; brother: Richard and sisters: Flora (Lidoro), Connie (Henry); grandchildren: Kenneth, Lonnie, (Felicia), Marshall, Matthew, Candace, Krystle, Paul, Octavio, Sierra, Isaiah, Joshua and Kyle; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:30 pm with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at the Sacred Heart Church in Nambe. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m at the Sacred Heart Church in Nambe.
