Philly Roybal

Philly (Phil) Joe Roybal , 63, a resident of Pojoaque was born November 23, 1955, and passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Leonardita (Nora) Roybal; brothers, Horacio, Eddie, Dan, and David Roybal; sister, Diane Ortiz; brothers-in-law, Derrick Esquibel, Sam Gonzales, Martin Trujillo, and Ruben Manzanares. Phil was a retired road maintenance operator for the county of Santa Fe. He enjoyed watching sports, watching western movies, and working on his words search puzzles. Phil was loved and respected by all who knew him, he will be dearly missed. Mr. Roybal is survived by his siblings, Loyola Trujillo, Norma Vigil (Ernie), Mary Lou Lujan (Rosendo), Jean Gonzales, Michael Roybal (Jean), Melva Manzanares, Sandra Roybal, Gerard Roybal, Peter Roybal, Lionel (Leo) Roybal (Monica), and Nadine Roybal and numerous other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Cecilia Roybal, and brother-in-law, Edwin Ortiz. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial to follow at the Pojoaque Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Alfred Trujillo, Joseph Vigil, Ross Lujan, Sam Gonzales, Ruben Manzanares and Nathan Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers will be, Michael Roybal, Gerard Roybal, Peter Roybal, Lionel Roybal, Ernie Vigil, Rosendo Lujan, and Edwin Ortiz. The family of Philly (Phil) Joe Roybal has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
