Phillip Joseph Martinez, 52, a resident of Medanales passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by long-time companion Janice Rivera; mother, Erminia Martinez;
maternal grandparents, Antonia and Frank Herrera, paternal grandparents, Jose V. and Sinforosa Martinez; uncles, Robert Herrera, Lino M. Herrera, Dennis Herrera, uncle and aunt Tonie Martinez, Orlando Martinez, and Mary Ortiz. Phillip was a roofer and mechanic and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and riding his Harley. He is survived by his father, Manuel A. Martinez (Julia Garcia); sister, Ida Martinez, brothers, Rudy Martinez, Daniel Martinez (Renee) all of Medanales; nephews, Leon Martinez of Espanola, Larry Martinez, Ryan Gallegos (Donna); nieces, Michelle Abeyta (Ralph Sauceda), Autumn Martinez and Kylie Martinez all of Medanales. Public visitation will begin on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales with a burial to follow at the San Antonio Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Leon Martinez, Ryan Gallegos, Ralph Sauceda, Joseph Bustos, Carlos Coronado and Jessie Willburn.
