Phil Salazar, 64, a resident of Coyote passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 following a lengthy Illness. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Pablita Salazar and mother of his daughters, Beverly Martinez. Mr. Salazar is survived by his longtime companion of 12 years, Emily Martinez; daughters, Lupe Espinosa and husband Eric and Phyllis Salazar and companion Robert Martinez; granddaughter he helped raise, Sarayah Martinez; granddaughters, Erica, Monique, Esperanza, Chantal and Savannah; step-children, Valerie Herrera and husband Steve, Emery Martinez and wife Clarice, Conway Martinez and wife Clarise, Steven Martinez, Nicole and companion Ricco, Palina and companion Rick and Angelica Martinez; brothers, Alfredo and wife Merlinda, Fermin and wife Julia, Manuel and wife Amelia and Pablo Salazar; sisters, Angie Soberanez and husband Ronnie, Teodora Herrera and husband Roberto, Helen Medina and husband Hector, Lorinda and companion Orlando and Cordy Nevarez and husband Diego and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins all who loved him very much. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Cremation to follow services. The family of Phil Salazar has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
