Pete B. - Age 78 - Española Valencia

Pete B. Valencia, 78, a resident of Española passed away of natural causes on Friday, January 28, 2011. Benny enjoyed listening to KDCE. He was artistic with arts & crafts, even some pottery work. He participated in Bingo, which he also enjoyed at the Española Nursing & Rehab. Benny was active at the Senior Citizens Center and won numerous medals in various senior citizen sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Maria Valencia and Dulcinea; sister, Mary Garcia. Benny is survived by his daughters: Roseann Gallegos and husband Lawrence of Santa Cruz, Pauline Valencia-Bustos of Hernandez; brother, Antonio A. Valencia and wife Connie of Española; granddaughters: Nadine Gallegos of Albuquerque, Tania Bustos of El Llano; grandson, Leon Bustos of Albuquerque; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. The family of Pete B. Valencia have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
