Pete L. Garcia Sr.

Pete L. Garcia Sr. was born and raised in Chama, NM; he raised his son and resided with his wife in Ensenada, NM.  A great man with a gentle soul, passed peacefully after a short-known illness.  

“Peteman” is preceded in death by his father Audulido Garcia, mother Mary Russom, Brother Paul Russom and step-father Dan Russom.  Pete was a hard worker all his life; a logger for many years.  Retired from NM Dept. of Transportation as a field mechanic after 28 years of service.  He continued his mechanic work independently from his shop.   Happily married to his wife of 50 years to Ernestina C. Garcia.

He is survived by his wife Ernestina C. Garcia, his son Pete L. Garcia, jr.  and wife Beverly Garcia.  The apple of his eye and his one and only granddaughter, Estella R. Garcia “Stellita”.  He is also survived by brother, Jake Garcia, sisters, Florie Alire, Lorraine Garcia, Linda Robles (Husband Vince), Mary Ellen Griffen, Nadine Russom and step brother Richard Russom (and family), brother in laws, Tony Casados (the late Aurora “Lula” Casados), Carlos and Tess Casados and Peter and Norma Casados.  Loved by many nieces and nephews, and step daughter Juleanne (partner David).

He will be greatly missed, such a kind soul and gentle heart, always willing to help anyone in need.

A celebration of life will be held July 29^th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Escalante Middle High School Commons area, reception to follow.
