Paul R. Borrego (Bobby), 80, a resident of Santa Cruz was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 6, 2016. His favorite hobbies were woodworking and fishing. Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Borrego; parents, Adrian and Elena Borrego; brothers, Joe, Ursulo, Johnny, Jerry, and Benny; sisters, Juanita, Annie, Connie, and Isabel. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Carmella Quintana (Walter) of Santa Fe and Elizabeth Tuggle of Sierra Vista, AZ; son, Michael Borrego (Debra) of Medanales; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Bustos, Jerry and Daniel Salazar, Rosana Garcia (Darren), Darryl, Anthony, and Nathan (Jessica) Tuggle, Ariel and Miranda Borrego; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert Borrego (Becky), Santiago Borrego (Ciria) and Manual Borrego (Maggie); sisters, Lourdes Fresquez and Emelda Roybal; sisters-in-law, Emma Borrego and Susie Borrego; brother-in-law, Joe A. Lopez; long time loving companion, Marcella Garcia; her daughters, Zelda Pacheco (Edgar), LaVerne Ortega (Jerry) and Claudette Garcia, and Marcella’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Rose Lucero, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Public visitation will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Ralph Alarid, Rueben Guinn, Severino Borrego, Elmer Lucero Jr., Edgar Pacheco and Jerry Ortega. Honorary pallbearer is Rumaldo Borrego. The family of Paul R. Borrego (Bobby) has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
