Paul Anthony Gabaldon – Age 51 a resident of Ohkay Owingeh passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Mr. Gabaldon was a respected member of San Juan Pueblo, he was an avid participant in Tribal Ceremonies. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, skiing and the outdoors and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed cooking and spending time dancing with his daughter and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was an inspirational father figure in Curt, Butterfly, Darren, Bryce, Jude and Cameron’s lives and claimed them as his sons. He was a boiler operator, working for the Santa Fe Indian School. He was preceded in death by his parents: Tony and Josephine Gabaldon; brother, Joseph Robert Aquino, Jr.; sister, Geri Ortiz; Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Lujan; grandparents: Johnnie and Petrolina Aquino; godson, Benito Henry Nastacio; brothers-in-law, Nini Medina and Darron Nastacio. He is survived by his wife, Tara Gabaldon of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo; daughter, Asia Gabaldon of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo; parents: Robert and Pauline Aquino of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo; 10 sisters: Toni Gabaldon, Senaida Gabaldon, Eliza Martinez and husband Richard, Joann Cruz and husband J.C., Denise Thronas and husband Chris, Marcel Povijua and husband Raymond, Roberta Montoya, Christine Aquino, Anna Aquino and husband Clifford and Johnna Aguino and companion Lance Little; 2 brothers: Chris Gabaldon and wife Louise and Marvin Gabaldon and fiancé Kim Horan; Godsons: Jude Gabaldon, Darron Joe Garcia and Joaquine Garcia; in-laws: Andrew Garcia Sr. and wife Verna; sisters-in-law: ReyAnn Nastacio and fiancé Edgar Cata, Dorea Garcia and companion George Gutierrez; brothers-in-law, Porfirio Max Ortiz, Sr., Aldric Nastacio, Farron Nastacio and Andrew Garcia, Jr. A rosary for the repose of the soul of Paul Anthony Gabaldon will be recited on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at 119 Drum Place – Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Burial will follow at the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Montoya, Arnold Garcia, Steven “Bull” Calvert, Clifford Montoya, Ivan Wright, John Aguino, Edgar ‘Woodsy” Cata, Anthony Montoya, Marvin ‘Smurf” Trujillo, Bryce Gabaldon, Darren Cruz and Freddy Trujillo.
