PAUL ROGELIO VIGIL, 62, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 following a sudden illness. He was a US Veteran during Vietnam Era and a member of the United Rural Route Carriers Union and retired from the US Postal Services after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School and Highland’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Mr. Vigil is survived by his wife, Teresa Vigil of Santa Fe; children, Isaiah and Antoinette all of Santa Fe, Marisela Vigil and Gretchen Valencia both of Albuquerque; step-son, Michael Sanchez of Albuquerque; loving parents, Ramon and Aurora Vigil of Santa Fe; granddaughters, Natalie Vigil and Amya Sanchez both of Albuquerque; brothers and sisters, Raymond Vigil and wife Sheila, Gilbert Vigil and wife Helen all of Budagers, NM, Frederico Vigil and Dolores Vigil all of Albuquerque, Father Joseph Vigil of Monte Vista, CO, Bernadette Marie Vigil of Budagers, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe. Burial to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Raymond, Gilbert, Fred and Isaiah Vigil, Michael Sanchez and Chris Kavanaugh. Honorary pallbearers named are, John Lopez, Sal Martinez, Delbert Griego, Wilbert Miera, Ignacio Ortiz, Jimmy Burrola, Frank Sanchez, Albert Silva, Jake Leyva, Ernest Salazar and Michael P. Sanchez. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/stridesonline.com.
